10 on 10 - February

The day I photographed began without a plan to document. It was last Tuesday. I wanted an image for my daily photo, & the sun was hitting just right in the kitchen. It was the day after we found the ninja suit. The one Covey obsesses over, that he hasn't seen in months (it may have accidentally been buried under mounds of laundry for a really long time, accidentally). So the camera ended up accompanying me on our day, & it sort of became the 10-on-10 (actually there's 11) of the red ninja suit. I'm happy this unplanned, insignificant day evolved into this. I know this outfit is something we will someday talk about, a lot, when we all want to have a really good laugh together, or want to really embarrass Covey, or just reminisce. Because even though I've 'misplaced' the ninja suit, it's not because I don't like him wearing it, it's just because....actually, I don't really know why it is.

1. The ninja suit has been found.

2. The fridge- opening & closing these doors all day long.

3. A self-portrait of some sorts, with Ella sleeping (I promise comfortably) on my back.

4. He likes this photo wall, & he likes finding himself in pictures.

5. Stopped at the harbor to watch boats, throw rocks in the ocean & yell at the crows.

6. Some merry-go-round fun at the park.

7. Doctor's appointment + prescription for Ella.

8. Hanging out at my sister's.

9. Late night snack because 8:00 is considered late these days.

10. My view, while the boys' brush their teeth.

11.  Goodnight, Ry.

26 Fridays: Week Three

This friday's theme, solitude. In looking for a quote or definition to accompany my image, I was amazed at the negativity that surrounds this word. While I agree one is alone in solitude, it's also a time to recharge, regroup, find peace, be creative, think & love. It's a place we would all benefit from visiting, from time-to-time. While one is alone, one is not lonely. Solitude.

& be sure to visit Carrie's blog for her view on solitude, then continue through the blog circle.

Six Months Old

I got to hang out with Hadley Mae a couple weeks ago, for her six month shoot. Because of some rescheduling due to these dang winter illnesses, it was more like her seven month shoot. She is such a sweet little spitfire. I think she would've appreciated not seeing my camera at all, but she did warm up to me once I started shaking her awesome little dumbbell rattle around.

Her pictures were done in her home, the light was perfect- even had some sun poke through briefly. It was also fun to see some of my pictures on their walls (maternity, birth & newborn images). I always love seeing how clients display their photographs!

January, the End. February, the Beginning.

So here I am, not giving up on the photo-a-day. I'm still referring to it as a monthly project because I wasn't sure if I'd make it past January & really unsure if I'll make it past February ;) 29. January 29th. & when they are sweet, they are very, very sweet.

30. January 30th. I love that it looks like they're holding hands. (& this image was featured on Lemonade & Lenses weekly favorites, yes, I am bragging!)

31. January 31st. Goodnight, January.

32. February 1st. Reach for the stars.

33. February 2nd. The superhero smirk.

34. February 3rd. Sunday morning- jumped in for a shot, since the rest of my family was lounging on the couch.

35. February 4th. It's almost Valentines.

Now head over & view the week through Nenonu's lens.

January. 31 Photos. Week Four.

With just a few days left this month, it's time for me to decide if I'm continuing on with this project, or sticking with the one-month thing. I think I'm taking the plunge & welcoming February with my camera. I'm really, really enjoying it- it gives me so many more opportunities to get creative with locations, light, ideas, etc., but I'm just not quite ready to say I'm doing a 365-project ;) 22. January 22. Walking in the rain.

23. January 23. Time to go to Disney, he needs his own set of ears.

24. January 24. Fly so high.

25. January 25. This is not Rylee.

26. January 26. The sun came out!

27. January 27. I successfully created something inspired by Pinterest- miracles do happen.

28. January 28. He asked to pick out his next birthday card, which is 6 months away, when he turns four (not five).

Now head over to January Skye Photography, to see what their week looked like!
